Transfers, Tuition and Expenses

Transfers
In order to obtain advanced standing for partial completion of a course of study at another college of mortuary science, a transfer student must present evidence that courses completed encompass essentially the same program content as the Worsham College Curriculum for the same period. The right to give examinations on the material for which advanced credit is sought is reserved by the College. However, consideration will be given to specific recommendations from the mortuary science school previously attended. Official transcripts of previous work will be evaluated, and appropriate credit will be given and recorded.

Students who wish to be excused from any subject must satisfy the following standards and expectations; a student must attain a Bachelor’s Degree, a major in that subject area, and a minimum of a “C” average in that particular course concentration. Once exemption is granted by the administration, the student is not required, but may wish to attend certain lectures. A student attaining exemption is required to complete the quarterly examination in the particular subject area.

A student may choose to make three quarterly payments of $4,149.00, due the first day of each quarter. Students also have the option of making ten monthly payments of $1,244.70, due the first day of each month. The payment schedule does not apply to those students receiving financial aid.

Each student must be current financially in order to sit for quarterly examinations. As of March 1999, a student will not be eligible to sit for The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards if they have not met their financial obligation to the College. Transcripts of grades will not be released until financial obligations are satisfied. A written release accompanied with a five dollar ($5.00) fee is required for duplicate copies of transcripts.

Refunds and Withdrawals
If for any reason it becomes necessary for a student to voluntarily withdraw from Worsham College, a letter must be submitted to the Program Director indicating this intent. The effective date of the withdrawal becomes the letter’s date of receipt. If a student chooses not to inform the College of his or her withdrawal, (s)he forfeits eligibility for a refund of tuition according to the refund schedule below. Non-attendance does not constitute official withdrawal.
