      Worsham College of Mortuary Science

Worsham College of Mortuary Science, founded in 1911, is a private institution offering an Associates Degree in twelve months. The College is dedicated to educating men and women for the funeral service profession. Students attending Worsham College come from all 50 states and many foreign countries. New students are accepted into the program in March and September.

The Diploma and Associate Degree Programs offered by Worsham College of Mortuary Science are accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education, 3414 Ashland Avenue, Suite G, St. Joseph, Missouri 64506, (816) 233-3747,  www.abfse.org

The American Board of Funeral Service Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Worsham College's Centennial Celebration-Saturday, October 22nd
On March 17, 1911, Worsham College of Mortuary Science opened their doors on Lincoln Avenue in Chicago. The College is celebrating its 100th Anniversary, and has scheduled the Centennial Celebration for Saturday, October 22, 2011. The date was selected to coincide with the NFDA/CANA's joint Convention in Chicago, October 23-26, 2011. Worsham College will celebrate its graduates and one hundred years of educating a legacy of funeral service professionals.

The Celebration is an Open House from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the College, 495 Northgate Parkway, Wheeling, Illinois. There will be several food stations, beer, wine and a live band, Looney Train which specializes in classic rock. Steve Dawson, a member of Looney Train, plays the keyboard, is a 1982 graduate, and owns and operates Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home in Franklin Park, Illinois.

For those in need of transportation, a shuttle will be provided from the Hyatt Regency Chicago which will leave promptly at 4:30 p.m., and will leave the College at 9:00 p.m. for the hotel. Valet parking will also be available at the College.

Please be a part of the celebration. Reservations must be made at a fee of $20 per person. Space for the evening is limited so please make your reservation early.
